Our social service team assists both patients and their families during transitional periods. We also provide essential information, manage requests and concerns, and help in care planning and discharge planning for each patient.
We can arrange professional services for:
A positive and uplifting atmosphere largely determines one’s quality of life. We strive to create social programs and individualized activities to match the capabilities and needs of each patient. This also has a powerful impact in the healing process of those patients involved in some type of rehabilitation.
Specific activities can include:
Resident Council, Book Club, Arts Club etc. – Hosted by residents, clubs encourage independence and celebrate the individuality and diverse interests of our residents.
Bible studies, hymnal singing, visits from local clergy, and Sunday communion and masses – For residents whose faith brings comfort and joy, we offer opportunities to practice and strengthen that faith through worship.
Lunch bunch, trips to the movies, museums, theater, scenic drives, and shopping – Small and large group outings give residents a delightful opportunity to socialize outside and experience a variety of sights, sounds, and tastes!
Wii seniors program, walking, stretches, chair exercise, balloon volleyball, and darts – Offered daily, these activities help residents maintain and improve mobility and physical wellness through enjoyable activities specifically designed to meet their needs.
Sing-a-longs, dancing, name that tune, and live entertainment – A familiar and universal language, music nurtures the spirit, reminds us of “the good old days,” and brightens our days.
Painting, drawing, crafts, and decorative paper folding – These activities are designed to give residents an opportunity to exercise their artistic creativity and individuality through a variety of venues.
Educational programs, current event discussions, cards, and games – Many of our residents enjoy learning, discussing their thoughts and opinions, playing games, and solving puzzles. These activities provide an excellent forum to support mental awareness and cognition.
Gardening, strolls in the park, nature walks, bird watching, and picnics – Breathing fresh air, feeling a warm breeze against your cheek, and enjoying the beauty of nature each contribute toward a positive outlook and a healthy spirit.
Sharing photos, memory-filled discussions, and afternoon socials – Each of our residents has his or her own rich and interesting life experiences and memories. These activities encourage our residents to explore a sense of self and life review through socialization.
Bread baking, hand massage at the spa, meaningful songs, and stroking a favorite pet – Our senses help to trigger pleasant and meaningful memories. These activities invigorate the senses and provide residents with a feeling of relaxation and comfort.
Partnerships with local school children – For many of our residents, there is nothing more pleasurable than hearing the laughter of a child as they discover the treasures from the toy box found in every room.
Cooking, helping address invitations, and folding napkins alongside a friend – Many residents prefer to participate in activities in which they can contribute their long time talents and abilities. Life skill activities are tailored to each resident, offering them the opportunity to do just that.
Holiday parties, cookouts, dances, and theme socials – Most everyone enjoys celebrating the season at hand or learning about various cultures. Our residents are encouraged to contribute their ideas and talents in the planning and decorating for these events and celebrations.
Family nights, brunches, potlucks, and parties – Families and friends of our residents are welcome and invited to our facility any time, especially when we plan a “soiree” in their honor!
Each patient is provided a monthly calendar to keep them informed of upcoming events such as birthday parties, movies, musical programs, outings, ice cream socials, and other special events. We always welcome friends and families to visit and attend our special events.
