On behalf of my family and my mother who was a resident at Courtyard nearly 8 weeks the care was superb, my mother was recovering with wounds from 3rd degree burns, I found the staff very attentive to her care and were very efficient, and seemed very concerned for her full recovery. The staff from washing her clothes, making sure she watched the Lakers games, and even moving her from a room where the other person was yelling made sure she was comfortable and at ease. We could leave feeling our mother was in the best of care at Courtyard we chose it because it was only a 59-bed facility and gave us quality of care. If my mom needed another facility I would choose Courtyard Care Center again. The experience and staff left a lasting good experience. Thank you
My mother was a patient of Courtyard Care Center and I just can’t muster up enough words to describe my satisfaction with the care she received. My wife and I visited Courtyard regularly giving us the opportunity to observe not only how my mother was treated but the care given to others as well. We were amazed at the quality of care they received. I observed the daily progress my 99-year-old mother made by the competent physical therapy department’s encouraging remarks and applied physical care given her. She was unable to walk when admitted from the hospital, but within 25 days she was able to walk well enough to go back to her assisted care retirement home where she lives a relatively normal life with limited care.
I wanted to write and let you know that my family and I were very pleased with the care that our mother received at your facility. The care that she received was very professional, caring, and overall exceptional. Our mother was recovering from surgery and needed some very special care along with physical rehabilitation. She was treated with respect and compassion by all the staff. The nursing staff was exceptional in the care of her incision until it was completely healed. The physical therapy department did an outstanding job of rebuilding her strength and endurance. She has been able to return home and resume her normal activities. If the need should arise again for post-surgery care or rehabilitation our family would not hesitate to choose Courtyard Care Center.
For six weeks I have been a patient at Courtyard Care Center. I have had a good healing experience. It stands out because it’s not like a regular nursing home. It’s a warm and caring place where everybody cares. I was in another rehabilitation facility prior to Courtyard, but had I been here all along, I would have healed a good month sooner. There are so many people to mention, most especially the rehab team, who never gave up and persevered through my pains, aches, and disability. I would like to praise the nursing staff for the constant care they provided to me and for keeping me informed in every plan of care. Everybody at Courtyard is dedicated to making a painful experience turn into a comfortable and loving one. Julie, you are a delightful lady who has the care and love for all your patients. You have a staff that you can be very proud of. Thank you for working with me to eliminate my frustrating uncertainties. You helped me when I needed help.
I would like at this time, to drop you a note to thank the physicians, physical and occupational therapists, and the entire staff for the level of care during my recuperation at your facility. I seldom write to express my gratitude because of my shy nature and personality. However, at this time, I would be remiss in my behavior if I did not acknowledge, and exemplify such professionalism at all levels I was cared for.
I contracted an MRSA infection on my left eye. I was hospitalized and I was then transferred to Courtyard Care Center for my convalescence and rehabilitation. During my initial hospitalization and subsequent rehabilitation, I was very concerned about my general health and the possibility, that the MRSA would migrate to my right eye. In addition, this gave me some sleepless nights. Although my spirits were low at times, the staff remained encouraging with a positive decorum at all times.
It is my belief that Courtyard Care Center set superlative standards for the staff. In addition, it transcends through the staff with an unmatched level of compassion, care and benevolence for each resident at Courtyard Care Center.
My Aunt Hazel is now 96 years old. Within the last three years, she has lived in 10 different places, always requesting to return to Courtyard. She often mentions writing a book about “Effective Full Time Care.” Courtyard is definitely number one on the list. While living in her Bakersfield house, she commented, “This place is going to go out of business. They could take a lesson from the 3 Cs” (Courtyard Care Center). I definitely agree. You treat your patients with respect and dignity. Your employess enjoy their jobs and it is definitely reflected in the quality of care. I recently retired from Los Angeles School District. My expertise was personnel selection and plant management. Courtyard definitely deserves an A .
Thank you for providing a better life for my Aunt, Hazel. The Courtyard Care Center staff is outstanding and we want you to know that we appreciate all of your hard work, sensitivity, and tender loving care.
My mother, Genevieve A, was admitted to your facility with the recommendation of her doctor. Dr. Tamara Maher assured me that she would admit her own mother there if necessary, as she likes the way the facility is administered and the way the patients are cared for. She is not the only doctor that feels that way about your facility. Last week while visiting my mother I met another doctor and struck up a conversation with him. He commented that Courtyard Care Center is one of his favorites. His comment was that the facility is clean and well administered.
I am very happy that my mother is being cared for by group of caring and friendly individuals. I have noted that all patients are clean and well-cared for. You have a number of activities for them. You make them feel, as close to being home as possible.
My mother likes your facility. She tells me that the staff treats her with respect and kindness. She has commented a number of times “don’t move me from here, I like it here.”
We experienced the “Best of Care.” I want to share my 88-year-old mother’s stay. New to Courtyard Care Center, we were at ease from the start. Located within the residential neighborhood, parking was always available. You are always greeted with warmth and professionalism, the shinny floors and cleanliness is in the air. Beautiful paintings cover the walls and the secure outside courtyard is refreshing. A home-like feeling is carried throughout, meals are varied with good flavor. The activity staff decorates for all the holidays, parties take place, entertainers perform, pet a dog, even a little girl visited with my mother. She loved her time in physical therapy, responding quickly. We highly recommend this small facility for personal care.
My husband went from LB Memorial to South Bay Acute Care, we were just exhausted by the lack of care. It was so disturbing. The nurses and doctors just didn’t care. We contacted Courtyard, they were so helpful, thoughtful, and caring. We made arrangements for my husband to transfer there. The day before the transfer the administrator, Julie Javier, called us and asked how she can make the transfer easy for us. She thought of every need my husband had. My god, it was so amazing to be treated like a person. She even had the physical therapist call to see how he could help my husband. When we got there everything was ready. Clean, bright, and cheerful. The really major thing was everyone had a smile on the face and they CARED! 3 weeks of being ignored, coming to Courtyard was like a new beginning. Thank you to each and every staff member. You made us feel like family. The last place we were at almost made us lose hope. Thank you Julie and your team, you gave us hope. And I know my husband will, with your help come home soon. Because you will help him get there!
My mom is about to complete her stay at this care center. I have to say although there is no place like home; our overall experience has been very good. My mom broke her hip and needed rehab and care until she was back on her feet. She is just about to complete the program and will be released soon; she actually said if ever needed rehab like this again she would come back to Courtyard. She has formed friendships with other patients and the staff that helped her stay positive and focused on getting healthy. When our family is in places like this we are so apprehensive and the facility has to work hard to gain our confidence and create a positive experience. Courtyard through their very happy nursing staff, their concerned rehab, and very clean facility all lead by the diligent and kind. Julie has done a good job. I would recommend this center to my friends and family if they needed care for a loved one.
I would recommend this facility to anyone that needs rehab after surgery. My 81-year-old mother was here for three months and received awesome care. She came in with a fractured hip and could not walk very well. The staff assisted with the physical therapy, she ate well and participated in some of the activities provided. They took care of the laundry, never lost an item of clothing, kept me updated in her progress, scheduled doctor appts. I would recommend this place over and over again. The staff took the time to work with mom and keep me updated all the time. Something that I noticed the first day I walked in to the facility is how clean and organized everything is. Everyone looks happy. Thank you Courtyard Care Center.
